FEATURE: We the People Love Ramen

It’s been a year to date that hip hop lost one of the greats: Phife Dawg from A Tribe Called Quest. Phife gave us his legacy and his passion. He’s been described as having a unique and approachable “self-deprecating swagger” and praised for helping to challenge the “macho posturing” of rap and hip-hop music in the late 80’s and early 90’s. Other wildly influential musicians in the industry cite Phife’s work as their source of inspiration including Kanye, Ms. Jill Scott, The Roots, and Common.

Today, we celebrate Phife by playing The Low End Theory through our speakers and blasting We The People on repeat. And if there was ever a time, where music could change a culture and unify a divided nation, it is now. We The People is that song for right now. Now, Q-Tip actually mentions ramen noodles on the first verse of We The People. And come to think of it...if there was ever a food that all kinds of people could relate to it's ramen. Thank you to A Tribe Called Quest for being such an important voice and influence of the people for all my life and the last few decades. We love you!
