PIE IN THE SKY: MANNA KNOWS
“Got me up so high, tryna get a piece of that apple pie”
Now through November 17th, MANNA is running their biggest annual fundraiser for Thanksgiving, Pie in the Sky, presented by American Airlines. Pie in the Sky brings the Philadelphia community together to help us nourish our neighbors battling life-threatening illnesses during the holiday season. The money raised directly towards preparing and delivering Thanksgiving dinners for four to people at acute nutritional risk from a life-threatening illness.
Manna knows that this fundraiser does so much good and it brings so many people together -from coordinating pick-up site locations, sellers, volunteers and partners - everyone works together to deliver these sweet treats and make a difference.
So what kind of pies are they serving up? Some OG flavors like apple, pumpkin, pecan and sweet potato. Their signature pie, “The Sky Pie” is a cheesecake with caramel, chocolate and walnuts and a graham cracker crust. And this year, they added in a berry pie by popular request. It sold out already!
Are you in philly and interested in getting involved with this awesome fundraiser? Here are two ways to get into it:
Buy a Pie, Feed Family. Each pie is $30 ($20 is tax deductible). Choose from any of the flavors above except for already sold out berry!
Volunteer to deliver food on Thanksgiving Day. Have some free time thanksgiving morning? Not traveling for the holidays? Make the difference with your time and help deliver food to families on Thanksgiving Day. All you need is you and your car!

MANNA is an organization dedicated to preparing and delivering meals for people facing life-threatening illnesses such as cancer, chronic kidney disease, heart disease, HIV/AIDS and more. 3 meals a day, 7 days a week - over 1200 clients - 1m meals a year. Keeping patients with their families for quality time together.
With a fundraiser like Pie In The Sky we immediately thought of some famous J. Cole lines from his “Born Sinner” album. Track 8: She Knows. We thank Laura for telling us more about the MANNA mission and story. She Knows. MANNA knows. The Gravy knows. Giving back means everything.
